THE TRUFFLE HUNTERS (MOVIE)

The Terre di Tartufi association (APS) (http://terreditartufi.it/) was founded by Livio Franco Carlevero, a life-long truffle hunter and retired doctor who has served his village of San Damiano throughout his career. His total dedication to his community, his passion for nature and his commitment to preserving a sustainable truffle hunting tradition in the region make him ideally suited to implement the goals of our program. Livio has been a great asset to the movie and has supported us throughout the production process. He helped us build relationships within the Piedmont community and deal with the local bureaucracy to enable us to achieve our production goals

Terre di Tartufi has a proven track record in successfully preserving the local lands. The association has involved local trifolau (truffle hunters) communities to join forces on common goals and has supported educational initiatives that can bring the younger generations closer to nature and to the knowledge of traditional practices meant to respect, preserve and regenerate the forest.

The association also aims to help and guide the local and regional bureaucracy towards better management of local land investments. Livio's deep bond with the area and the local community enables him to identify the most vulnerable lands to help cost-effective acquisition processes. We are confident that, thanks to his support, our budget will have maximum impact on achieving our program goals.

Fund distribution:

All funds will be received through the 501c3 Utah Film Center, overseen by Geralyn Dreyfous, and then transferred directly to our partners on the ground in Italy. Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw, directors of The Truffle Hunters, will identify local partners and support their work by setting targets, evaluating progress and developing creative approaches that will underpin our partner's efforts on the ground in Piedmont. 

Dweck and Kershaw will also be involved in building the fundraising network combined with the promotion of The Truffle Hunters movie.
